Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met actor Salman Khan, days after shots were fired outside the actor’s home in Mumbai’s Bandra. Security around the actor’s home was heightened in anticipation of the Chief Minister’s arrival.
Upon arrival, Mr. Khan greeted Eknath shinde and escorted him into his home. Inside, Mr. Shinde met and exchanged pleasantries with the actor’s father, acclaimed screenplay writer Salim Khan, as well as politician Baba Siddiqui and his son Zeeshan.
Outside the actor’s residence, Eknath Shinde assured reporters, “The government is with you, I have told Salman Khan. Both the accused have been arrested. They will be interrogated. We will get to the root of the case. Nobody will be spared. Nobody should be targeted this way.”
Eknath Shinde issued a stern warning, declaring, “No gang or gang war will be allowed. We won’t allow this to happen. We will finish (Lawrence) Bishnoi.”
The incident, which occurred around 5 am on Sunday, involved two individuals arriving on a bike and firing four rounds outside Bandra’s Galaxy Apartments, where Salman Khan resides with his family. The suspects, arrested today, were captured on CCTV cameras wearing caps and backpacks. One suspect wore a white t-shirt with a black jacket and denim pants, while the other wore a red t-shirt with denim pants.
Links to Lawrence Bishnoi’s Gang
According to police sources, the arrested individuals are associated with a gang led by notorious criminal Lawrence Bishnoi, currently incarcerated in Tihar Jail for multiple high-profile murders.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had spoken to Salman Khan over the phone on the day of the incident and had also communicated with the Mumbai Police Commissioner, advocating for increased security measures for the actor.
Security Measures for Salman Khan
Since November 2022, Salman Khan’s security has been escalated to Y-Plus level due to threats from gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. Additionally, the actor is authorized to carry a personal firearm and has access to an armored vehicle for enhanced protection.
