Gunfire heard outside Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai prompts police investigation.

Early this morning, Mumbai police reported hearing gunshots outside the Mumbai residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan. At around 5 am, an unidentified individual on a motorcycle fired multiple rounds into the air outside Salman Khan’s home in Bandra before swiftly fleeing the scene. Mumbai Police has initiated an investigation into the incident to locate and apprehend the perpetrator.

Last year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed that Khan was the primary target among a list of ten individuals marked for elimination by incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. This revelation stemmed from Khan’s involvement in a notorious 1998 blackbuck hunting case, which offended the Bishnoi community. Bishnoi disclosed that his associate, Sampat Nehra, had conducted surveillance on Khan’s Bandra residence in preparation for a potential attack. However, Nehra was apprehended by the Special Task Force of Haryana Police.

In response to heightened security concerns, Mumbai Police upgraded Khan’s security status to Y+ following a threat call received on April 11 of the previous year. Additionally, an Indian student in the United Kingdom was subject to a lookout circular (LOC) for allegedly sending a threatening email to Khan.
