New Jalpaiguri-Patna Vande Bharat Express: Launch and Schedule
The Vande Bharat Express train, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, will commence operations between New Jalpaiguri and Patna from March 14th, running from both ends.
Departure and Arrival Times
Departing at 5.15 a.m. from New Jalpaiguri, it will arrive at Patna junction at 12.10 p.m. the same day. On its return journey, the train will leave Patna at 1.00 p.m., reaching New Jalpaiguri at 8 p.m.
Route and Duration
It will cover a distance of 471 km via Kishanganj and Katihar in around 7 hours each way, operating six days a week.
Coach Configuration and Passenger Capacity
The train comprises eight coaches, including one executive class, five chair cars, and two driver trail coaches, accommodating up to 530 passengers.
Enhanced Connectivity
This service will significantly enhance connectivity between these cities, benefiting residents of Kishanganj, Katihar, and surrounding areas.
Expansion of Vande Bharat Service
With this addition, West Bengal now boasts 6 Vande Bharat trains.
Additional Vande Bharat Express
Additionally, another Vande Bharat Express train was flagged off on the same day by the Prime Minister, running between Patna and Gomti Nagar.
Future Plans for Vande Bharat
Plans are also underway to introduce the Vande Bharat Express in Tripura once railway electrification is completed.
